Total U.S. production of computers and peripheral equipment will escalate by 14% in 2008 after expanding 15% in 2007.

U.S. output of computers and peripheral equipment increased moderately in June when compared with the previous month, and it vaulted 15% when compared with the same month last year.

Business investment in computer equipment increased 1% in the second quarter of 2008 when compared with the previous quarter, and it was 4.5% higher when compared with the same quarter from a year earlier.

Total U.S. business investment in computers and peripheral equipment is expected to post a 4% gain in 2008 after a 5.5% increase in 2007.
