Resin Companies Get New Heads

Two resin suppliers have new chief executives. Kraton Polymers LLC, Houston, named Kevin M. Fogarty as president and CEO, replacing George B. Gregory. Also, David A. Bradley was named COO. Fogarty was Kraton’s exec. v.p. since 2005. Bradley was v.p. of operations since 2004.

            In addition, Nylon Corp. of America (NYCOA) appointed Gregory J. Biederman as its new president and CEO. He comes to the firm with 27 years of chemical industry business-management experience, most recently at Invista, a PET resins and fibers producer, and before that at DuPont, from which Invista was spun off.

Spartech Names New Chief

Myles S. Odaniell is the new president and CEO of Spartech Corp., St. Louis. Spartech is the leading sheet producer and also supplies color concentrates, plastic compounds, calendered film, cast acrylic tubes, thermoformed packaging, and other products. Odaniell has 25 years’ experience in chemicals and plastics, including Chemtura Corp. and its predecessor Crompton Corp.; Cytec Industries and its predecessor American Cyanamid; and CYRO Industries.

Chroma Beefs Up Its Rotomolding Team

R. Dru Laws is the new director of development for the Rotational Molding Div. of Chroma Corp., McHenry, Ill. He received a degree in Polymer Engineering, with emphasis on rotomolding, from Queens University in Belfast, N. Ireland. He is studying to be certified as a six-sigma black belt in quality. He holds several patents on rotomolding and was recently director of engineering for rotomolder SimTek Fence (formerly Mity-Lite).

Bruce Kozak Joins Canterbury Engineering

To help increase its share in the injection molding market, Canterbury Engineering Co., Inc., Chamblee, Ga., has hired Bruce Kozak as director of new business development. Canterbury supplies screws, barrels, check valves, nozzles, end caps, adapters, and the like. Kozak has spent over 30 years in plastics, including the last three years as v.p. of global sales and marketing for Spirex Corp. Before that, Kozak spent more than 20 years at Milacron, Inc., where he held such jobs as v.p. of global marketing and v.p. and general manager of the injection machinery business.

Healthcare Marketing Chief at PolyOne

Lawrence Johnson has joined PolyOne Corp., Cleveland, as director of marketing for healthcare. He was v.p. of sales and marketing at Foster Corp., and before that was at Deerfield Urethane, Ticona, and B.F. Goodrich.

Lou Zavala Heads Sales at Frigel

Fluid temperature-control specialist Frigel North America, Lake Zurich, Ill., has brought on board Lou Zavala as national sales manager. He has over 25 years’ experience at firms such as Conair, AEC, Sterling, Xaloy, NRM, Davis-Standard, WESPEC, and Process Solutions Group. He was a process engineer and product manager before moving to sales.
