Global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics RTP Company, Winona, Minn., has completed its acquisition of Alloy Polymers, Inc., Richmond, Va., strengthening its position in the high-volume contract manufacturing sector.

A leading provider of specialty, value-added thermoplastic compounding services, Alloy Polymers has had four compounding facilities with an annual capacity of over half a billion pounds. RTP acquired Alloy’s Gahanna, Ohio plant earlier this year and now has added the Richmond, Va., and Crockett and Orange, Texas facilities. The newly acquired group will be run as Alloy Polymers, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of RTP Co., with headquarters remaining in Richmond. Long-time RTP Co., executive Peter Ploumidis will lead the new subsidiary as president. “Alloy Polymers and RTP Company share a vision of serving customers as true partners, and complement each other perfectly. Alloy will continue to provide high-volume compounding production services for contract manufacturers, and RTP will continue developing custom engineered thermoplastic compounds for molders and OEMs. Between the two, customers will benefit from a full spectrum of products and services designed to fit their specific needs.”
