Injection molding machine and automation supplier Engel has announced that Johannes Kilian, VP Process Technologies and inject 4.0, is the new VP of Global Processing Engineering. Kilian replaces Norbert Müller, who has accepted an appointment as Professor for Plastics Processing at the Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

With this move, Engel says it is combining two divisions and business functions under joint management — development of process technologies and digital products with global processing engineering.

Kilian, who has been with Engel for 10 years, studied mechatronics; robotics and automation technology; and economics at university. He took over as head of the Process Technologies and the inject 4.0 division in 2021. In that role, Engel notes that Kilian already worked closely with the global processing engineering division in recent years.

As Professor of Plastics Processing at the Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences, Müller will be focused on the development of new fiber composite technologies, among other areas.
