Fakuma: Arburg to Stress Digitalization and Sustainability
Arburg’s arburgXworld and arburgGREENworld programs will be highlighted at the fair, including new digital services and features; digital watermarks for end-of-life part sorting, molding biobased plastics and more.
From stand 3101 in Hall A3, Arburg will use Fakuma (Oct. 12-16; Friedrichshafen, Germany) to highlight new capabilities and offerings from its arburgXworld digital platform and arburgGREENworld sustainability program, as well as introduce its new line of multicomponent injection molding machines.
Arburg notes that it continues to update its arburgXworld customer portal with new digital services and features, including the AnalyticsCenter for process analysis. Arburg will have more information on the portal at the show, noting that in the future, arburgXworld will be able to integrate machines and peripheral devices from other manufacturers into the central platform.
To highlight the coming circular economy, Arburg will provide application examples, including digital watermarks to identify a component’s base resin and the molding of a biobased PA12. Separation by type using a digital watermark—HolyGrail2.0 and CurveCode—during production of IML espresso cups will be showcased, while sustainable sunglasses will be molded from a bio-based PA12 from what Arburg calls a “sophisticated turnkey system.”
Beyond these displays and the debut of Allrounder More series, Arburg will highlight planetary roller screw drives developed and produced in Lossburg, as well as its Gestica control system. In total, the company will have nine machine exhibits on its stand, including presses making IML cups for the packaging sector; blood tubes and two-component fluid housings for the medical sector; and LSR mask holders; in addition to additive manufacturing of LSR and plastic granules from its Freeformer machine.
Juliane Hehl, managing partner with responsibility for marketing at Arburg says the company will present “the best of both worlds” at Fakuma 2021.
